Chapter III
The next morning, they emerged from their musty limestone shelter. “dad I miss Japan.” Sniffed Dexx. “Me to son. There isn’t much left for us there though. The Hirosaki wouldn’t want us anymore. That boat cost millions.” Said Jon. Dexx stiffly drew his leather cloak tightly around his torso. Jon shivered and rubbed his chest. They both were fit so they ran this time to cover more ground. They found a few more trees. Jon chopped them this time. Dexx spotted some purple plants and declared that they must be Jordan plants. Jordan plants can tell the weather. If it shrivels its going to be hot tomorrow. If it flourishes it’s going to be mild tomorrow. If its stiff and bleak its going to rain. If its pale and droopy its going to snow. “very interesting plants.” Said Jon. He marked it on his newly drawn map. They picked the bush. Later that day, they cleared the small ridge near their cave and planted the Jordan bush. The ground was obviously not fertile, so they filled a hollow rock with sea water and sprinkled it along the plant’s roots. Its believed in Japan that sea water has amazing preservations for weakening greenery. That night they slept quite soundly knowing that tomorrow would bring warmth. But Jordan isn’t always accurate…
